The BARC Modified Saloon Car Championship is South East Centre’s main championship and has been run in different formats and under various titles since the 1980s.
This is a multi-class championship which attracts some of the fastest saloons seen in national racing, but the regulations are framed to prevent an unrestricted power battle and to stop anyone enjoying a runaway advantage. Drivers in all the classes have an equal opportunity to become overall champion, counting their best 15 results towards the season’s points total. Bonus points are available for every race, depending on the numbers taking part in each class.
The BARC Modified Saloon Car Championship will be contested over 16 races on nine weekends between the end of March and early November. Races will feature at high profile events including HQ-organised Easter truck meeting at Brands Hatch and a variety of other venues including Snetterton, where it will be using the ‘200’ circuit.
